The Human Race is a fun and meaningful way for individuals, families, and businesses to come together and make a difference! Participants can run or walk in the TAC-certified 5K, which starts and finishes at Bicentennial Park, all while raising money for a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization or school they care about.
Best of all, participating nonprofits keep 70% of the funds they raise, with the remaining portion supporting The Volunteer Center and its ongoing community initiatives. It’s a great way to get active, give back, and celebrate the power of community—all in one exciting event!

Team Participation!
Rally your crew and register your team! Ask family, friends, neighbors, and co-workers to cheer you on by sponsoring your run or walk to raise funds for your non-profit. Be sure to turn in your completed forms and collected funds to your team captain by March 1st, 2026 to receive a t-shirt, and cover timing cost for runners. Team captains must bring all registration forms and funds to The Volunteer Center by March 16th & 17th , 2026.

Well behaved dogs on leashes are welcome at The Human Race. The first three Mutt Strutt Runners as well as the first three Mutt Strutt Walkers across the finish line will receive Mutt Strutt Trophies provided by The Randolph County Animal Shelter. To participate in The Mutt Strutt please fill out your online registration form.
Race Day Reminders
The Human Race 5K is a rain or shine event on Saturday, March 21st , 2026 at Bicentennial Park located in Downtown Asheboro. Registration starts at 9am, and the race will start at 10am. Any money collected on March 21st , 2026 will go directly to The Volunteer Center.
