United Way of Randolph County manages the federally funded Emergency Food and Shelter Program through the U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s Federal Emergency Management Agency. EFSP funds are used to supplement and expand the ongoing work of local social service organizations, both non-profit and governmental, to provide shelter, food, and supportive services to individuals and families who have economic emergencies. EFSP funding is open to organizations that feed the hungry and house the homeless, as well as organizations that support those at risk of becoming hungry or homeless due to economic hardships. Funds are not to be used to provide emergency assistance for circumstances that are the immediate result of a disaster situation. Funding Decisions are made by the local EFSP Board.
United Way of Randolph County will alert the community when these funds are available.
